Detailed description of International Links

International Links, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Miami, Florida, only 3 minutes from the entrance to Miami International Airport.

International Links first opened for play in 1961. The course was designed by Dick Wilson.

International Links Miami, Melreese is demanding as well as fair. In 1996-1997 it underwent a $3.9 million renovation. The course was renovated by golf course architect, Charles Mahannah.

The renovated course has five lakes, nine waste bunkers, 97 sand bunkers and a cypress wetland strategically and interestingly placed. The rolling, northern style fairways are uniquely designed. The undulating greens average 6500 square feet and are planted with certified Tiftdwarf grass and designed to USGA specifications.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,173 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,534 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 17, a par-5 that plays to 661 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 176 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 608-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at International Links Golf Course is # 15, a 180 yard par-3.

I've played this course several times. The course is in excellent shape and the staff is great. They really make you feel at home. They are building a new clubhouse and we are anxiously awaiting it's completion. While it is not the most scenic course I've ever played on in Florida, it is still pleasant and you really don't feel like your playing near an airport. It can be challenging if your an advanced golfer yet pleasant even for a beginner who at least keeps up. It's very convenient from downtown Miami also. I give it a thumbs up across the board..especially when the new clubhouse is finished...

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Ranks with the best in this price level, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

The staff is nice and the course is kind of so-so. I think if would be okay if i played it a few more times, but did not know where the hazards were. Was helped by playing with a few regulars.
